Triclinium was founded in February 2000 by Managing
Director Victor Strugo, who entered the pharmaceutical
industry from academia in 1982. In a career that spans multinational
Pharma, CROs and academic trial sites, he has been involved
in over 400 Phase I to III clinical trials. He is directly
responsible for marketing and business development.
Barbara Theron joined Triclinium
in May 2001 with a Phase I Unit background and a wealth of
experience in clinical research, registration, sales and marketing
in pharmaceuticals and vaccines. Barbara is a Director and
heads up Triclinium’s clinical projects group, comprising
Project Managers, CRAs and CTAs.
Before joining Triclinium as Financial Director
in 2003, Ronald van der Linde held the same
position in a large industrial chemical company. He has been
a board member of over 12 companies.
Marian Butt joined Triclinium
in June 2000, from a clinical research position at Rhône–Poulenc
Rorer, preceded by a banking background. She has recently
been appointed a Director and is in charge of Triclinium’s
adminstrative services.
Our central staff currently comprises four dedicated Clinical
Project Managers – all with extensive experience and
qualified in medical/para-medical disciplines – plus
four administrative and financial support staff.
Our national network of experienced Clinical Research Associates,
covers three coastal and two inland locations. All CRAs hold
pharmacy, nursing, pharmacology or related science qualifications.
In addition to South Africa, we have managed clinical trials
in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Zambia and Botswana. Johannesburg
has good airline links to other countries in southern and
east Africa.
