Triclinium was established in February 2000, to fill a perceived
client need for a niche CRO that provides efficient regional
services, rapid communication and competitive rates vis-à-vis
large competitors.
Modern medical knowledge and ethics are firmly rooted in Greek
and Latin wisdom, and still today these languages profoundly
influence medical and pharmaceutical terminology. Our founder
chose the name Triclinium for two reasons. Firstly, the obvious
alliterative association with our core business (Trials, Clinical).
Secondly as an indirect but apt symbol for our logo.
Competence, not corpulence – we do not seek to acquire
or duplicate specialised resources (such as clinical laboratory,
that already exist in our environment and can be rapidly in-sourced
by effective project management. Clients thereby pay for the
CRO services they require, not for the hidden costs of a heavy
infrastructure.
Focus on strengths – management and
monitoring of clinical trials Flexibility – offer a partial or full
service tailored to each client’s need Expertise – experienced project managers
and regionally-based monitors (average 9+ years) Virtual network – of related services
(pharmacy, lab, stats, etc) Rational infrastructure – cost-efficient
functional company structure Local relevance – to bring to South
Africa clinical trials of benefit to specific patient populations Enduring relationships - with clients, investigators,
staff and related service providers
